The American Express Blue Cash Preferred card pays a hefty 6% rebate on up to $6,000 in supermarket purchases annually, 3% at gas stations and department stores, and 1% on everything else. The generous rebates more than cover the $75 annual fee.

Rewards points

With the Rewards Visa from Chase card (no annual fee), earn three points per dollar you spend on Amazon purchases; two points at gas stations, restaurants, drugstores and office-supply stores; and one point on all other purchases.
